Hmm, it seems like the part I ordered is only the ring itself, not the ring and metal inner mounting flange. That is annoying...

    Doing a thing, part 2

I'm definitely doing the radiator covers but that will make the bike pretty silly looking while they are off, so that is going to wait until the winter. Key surround should be done this week, last touchups of resin went on this morning. I actually think the chain guard is too much, probably...

KRIEGA Tank - US converter, use with 801

I'm generally a huge fan of SW Motech but I can't figure out their thinking here. It puts the tankbag in your gut and without the bag on the bike it is quite ugly looking. Add to that it is very expensive for a tanklock style ring (I got the Givi ring for $26 USD (vs $65)). All just so you...

Excellent, that backs up my research. The item needed is Givi ZT480F-2R TankLock Bag Ring

Anyone know which Givi tanklock ring we need for these bikes? The '19 ktm 790 duke looks like it uses 8 bolts around the filler cap so that isn't it.

    Doing a thing, part 2

I know I said I was done, but I needed a little forged goodness to look at while I'm riding...

I'm going to switch grips at some point, the stock grip on the left side has a cm of extra width on the inside that makes that reach to the signal much farther than necessary.

    Ergo seat

The shape of the seat is the same, just a different padding? I wouldn't mid switching just for the breathability, but I really love the stock shape.

I thought that was just me and that I somehow shut them off without thinking about it. I will keep an eye out now that someone else has said it.

    Doing a thing, part 2

Wetsanded, polished and installed. Since the radiator end covers are not appearing in the technical parts catalog anymore and I already have my shop all set up to do this stuff I may just jump in and skin them myself as well.

    Doing a thing, part 2

Clearcoat done. Garage was too warm to get really good flow out before each coat dried, so I will have to do the 2k/3k/5k/polish stuff to really make it look good. But looks awesome from more than a couple feet away, my color lines came out super sharp.

    Doing a thing, part 2

You do have strong google fu. Where is that pic from? I cannot find any custom maker that doesn't use the large ~13mm chop size for forged carbon.

    Doing a thing, part 2

Someone skinned that photo that Tom found, that isn't 'real' forged carbon, you can see the plastic in the mounting holes. I may wind up doing this as well. I also reached out to motocomposites to see if I can get the same parts with a smaller chop size. @Dhd12 I got the parts from...

    Doing a thing, part 2

Ok, fine. So when you get carbon parts made by professionals they look better than the homemade stuff :) But to be perfectly honest I'm not really a fan of the size of chop they used, I like my smaller stuff better.

I had the RhinoWalk saddlebags for a long road trip on my MT09, they were very nice. Only sold them because I made some frames that let me run Givi semi-rigid bags on that bike for longer trips.

    801 service reset

My maintenance menu (after holding both buttons) also shows software V1.11 (video doesn't show anything, it would be the third item in that menu). I can get in there and change the distance but after saving when I back out it is gone immediately.

    801 service reset

I understand in other countries the warranty is a thing. In the US as long as you keep receipts of service they can't take your warranty away. They also don't extend it if you use the dealer service. Either way, it isn't worth a 5 hour round trip and the dealer didn't exactly do a stellar job...

    801 service reset

Anyone figure this (620 mile service light) out yet without going to a dealer? Closest one is 2.5 hours away, not really interested in driving there to get a light reset.
