In my case, I received my new Svartpilen with zero miles on it. During my first ride, the bike ran pretty rough. It took about 50 miles for the computer to figure out the proper fueling. And it just got better and better from there.
He didn’t say the left leg did nothing. He said that adjusting it wouldn’t make any real noticeable difference.
The rest of your assessment is accurate.
I took the bike to Suspension by Design (Darryl Reid) out in Newberg OR this morning. He tuned the stock suspension for me and it’s MUCH better now. I’m a happy camper.
A couple of notes.....
He said tuning the left fork leg does nothing. It’s the right leg that makes the difference. He softened...
Would you say the Andreani cartridges are the “hot setup” for the forks then? And what brand is most commonly used for the rear shock?
I’m not familiar with any other forum, except advrider, and I’m one of those fossils who refuse to use Facebook.
So it seems no one has found any transformative aftermarket suspension products?
Then I’ll make an appointment with a local WP expert and see what he can do.
Yeah, I’ve messed with tire pressure. I can’t tell much difference. One of the features that attracted me to the Svartpilen was the 18” front wheel I assumed would provide a bit more plush ride vs the Vitpilen.
I’m resurrecting this thread because I’m not happy with the suspension on my 2019 Svartpilen. The front seems really harsh whenever I hit any sort of serious road imperfections. The bike handles fine, and corners well. I’m used to a BMW GSA with Ohlins or Traxxion. They would just float over...
I run mine with the air box lid off, Rottweiler fuel dongle, and an Arrow mid pipe and muffler. I don’t have any issues with surging or popping on decel. Seems to run great!
I think there’s a reason exhaust typically is expelled out the back. I can just imagine sitting stopped at a signal and having the hot fumes rising up into my helmet.
I changed my exhaust to an Arrow mid and muffler, removed the air box lid, added the Rottweiler fuel dongle and SAS removal kit. I’m very happy with the result. No surging anywhere and no popping on decel.
I’m curious what functionality the new dash will provide. I haven’t noticed a tachometer in any of the photos. And couldn’t they include GPS functionality at that price point?
