    My New Svart 401

That really is so much better. I keep telling myself I will turn one out of aluminum on the lathe but just being dark makes a huge difference. Link?

    Break-in oil change filter pictures.

This is 100% normal for these bikes. I've only ever had yamaha's and almost puked when I did my first oil change. I'm not saying it is ok, just that it is normal :) I did my first change at 500 miles and will do my second at 1200 miles this weekend.

2021 401: where is the regulator rectifier

That is where all three of my bikes (Husky, Yamaha, Honda) have it. You want lots of airflow over the fins.

    Reverse polarity LCD Display

Maybe your MT09 dash is at a different angle than my 2019, but I had zero issues with readability when I when to black with white numbers.

    Instrument cluster

Everything works, I went for a long ride and tested everything. I do have signals, look closer. motogadget bar end signals up front and pins in the back.

    Vitpilen 801

Clip ons are not going to happen with that tank surround. The best that can probably be done is a flat rise bar.

    Vitpilen 801

Anything based on a Duke 790 sound great, but man I wish they would have kept the wire wheels. Cafe racers must have wire wheels.

    Instrument cluster

'themis tiger country' threw me... I can 100% confirm the bike runs fine and everything operates as normal without the instrument cluster. The bike also looks a LOT better and really enhances the 'riding over the front wheel' sensation without that big blob there.

    Instrument cluster

Was that a drunk reply? I'll let you know in a bit, I would like to remove that eyesore and replace it with a motogadget gauge. Also, I would like to remove the ABS as well - you just pulled it out and ran new brake lines?

2021 401: where is the regulator rectifier

It is the finned black metal box under the tail right behind the shock.

    Wheel Compatibility

If I wanted to do that I would find the brake disc part number and check which years that brake disc fits, the mounting points for the cast wheel is different. You can probably find this on the Galfer website.

    New guy with a question

The QA on these bikes is comically low. You might just have a poorly seated connector somewhere.

    Need Help!

Why are we talking about the clutch? That side is the normal fill side, of course it has oil in it.. The original post was concerned that he added oil to the alternator side via the plastic cap that is the inspection port for finding top dead center. In many bikes this would be a problem. In...

    Need Help!

A quick google search shows that you are nowhere near the first person to do this wrong. But most of them were KTM owners, so you should feel at least a little dumb :) The oil on that side drains back to the sump, so you are fine.

    Need Help!

I've never had a bike where I looked at the alternator and had oil on that side, but maybe this bike is different. I don't see a seal on the main shaft bearing so oil could certainly get into that area - and if it gets in there must be a drain passage back to the sump at the bottom somewhere...
