    Metal shavings in oil

Update: I showed the picture to my dealer. The mechanics weren’t too alarmed. They advised me to ride some miles and re-flush the system to see if more shavings appear or if it was a one-off. That’s what I did, and I was happy to find perfectly clean screens... only to discover there are still...

    Metal shavings in oil

Thanks for your answers! @LuisLAN , that seems pretty close to what I got. How many miles did you get since? I have also read almost half the internet about shavings on KTM screens 🤯. On similar situation, the conclusion went from "your engine is dead" to "normal life of a KTM". I have finished...

    Metal shavings in oil

Hello everyone! Today, in preparation for a track day at the end of the month, I decided to flush the oil even though it wasn’t that old (~1000 km, with ~8h on track). This is my 4th oil change. I bought the bike 4 years ago at 11,000 km, and it’s now at 22,000 km. My oil screens and filters...

Can I run my vitpilen 701 with a decat without pc5 or ecu map?

I have put a thing like that on mine, which modify the signal from the O2 sensor to run richer. Very nice but the O2 sensor is narrow band and it will only help you in low rpms/throttle.

Can I run my vitpilen 701 with a decat without pc5 or ecu map?

I think I have seen some dyno chart with a decat, they lose quite a bit of torque in the mid range for a little power gain in the last rpms. For me with a fuel dongle and an open airbox lid the bike runs pretty well. If you want to improve the behaviour you should play on all the parameter...

    Master cylinders upgrade

I have only had the stock and the CL ones, but as said before I think that the pads of the same range are quite close in terms of performance. I have always been happy of CL brakes on all my motorcycles so I do not see any reason to change.

    401 Supermoto Build

Nice project and there is a lot of work to do it! At first sight I would say that the plastics may look a little too big on such a little bike, especially if you do not intend to rise the bike. I would not have gone for carbon footpegs either for a security reason, but you must know what you are...

    Master cylinders upgrade

The most important step is indeed to change the pads, the difference for me was like night and day. Every manufacturer has in it's range a performance street pads. For me it was CL brakes XBK5. Like it is said before do not use racing pads for street use, they are not that good when cold.

    ABS can failure mid ride.

I am interested if there is a solution, mine has done that since I bought it. I changed the battery, same thing. It happens like one or two times per hour.

    Master cylinders upgrade

I know, I would have preferred smaller diameter but the brembo line does not go lower than 14mm I think. It will also come with a lever longer than our two and a half finger lever on the HC1, increasing the mechanical advantage. Or I may simply throw another rebuild kit on the Magura, hoping...

    Master cylinders upgrade

So if I resume our 701 brakes are quite close to the duke R : 15mm radial master cylinder (18mm offset for the 701, 19mm for duke R from what I have read, not easy to check). And 4 32mm piston calipers, vs the 30mm of the Duke R (but monobloc). Has anyone tested the duke R? If so, is the...

    Master cylinders upgrade

OK, so we have 4 32mm piston for the caliper, and a 15x18 master cylinder. It seems pretty spot on, I don't know if a 15mm RCS master cylinder will be a clear upgrade

    Master cylinders upgrade

I think I was wrong and that the caliper is indeed 32mm piston. Replacement parts for our caliper is 76013019000 and are listed as 32x20mm pistons. With 4 30mm piston on a single caliper the 690 duke use a 15mm master. My bike is a 2018 and here is the backside with the "20"

    Master cylinders upgrade

I am not sure of my data either, I have not measured anything. I have read in different places that our caliper is 4 34mm piston, but they may be wrong. For the master cylinder the only information I have is that there is written "20" on the back. 20mm master with 34mm piston is also in line...
