It works a LOT better than the Puig for me. I know people don’t like to ruin the styling of their bikes with a big screen, but there really is no free lunch - bigger area = more wind protection
Rear wheels esp are usually different spoke lengths, hub is offset to make room for the sprocket cush drive on one side, brake on the other. The hub flanges are asymmetric. Hence the need for different length spokes to center up the rim over the hub..
And here’s the deal - the tension will be...
This bike is the cousin to our Svart and Vipilen 401’s. I’ll bet there’s a welcome crowd that could add to this forum, not to mention potential cross compatibility of aftermarket parts options..
Have you/ we/us ever considered expanding the site to attract 390 Adventure riders?
Ultimately, the Puig was too short for my needs.
There are a lot of aftermarket screens that are ‘Universal’ fit. It might take some creativity & hardware magic to fit these, but you can choose the height and style that works for you. That’s the route I ended up going. It was designed for a...
@bullet-man
It was over two weeks before I received an address so I could investigate shipping to MEX etc. In that time, I had a buyer for all three items I listed FS on this Forum. Sorry if there was miscommunication, but a package deal worked out best for me as I stated in my other ad...
If you have a spring with 300mm of travel, and subtract 25mm of preload..there is not more distance before the bottom point.
Adding preload to a spring is effectively decreasing total travel.
With all respect to the discussion and “I have also heard” you are mistaken. As you said, adding preload to the spring will reduce rider sag, but you are removing total travel from the system.
Ideal spring rate for your riding style = no preload / max travel. But we don’t live in a perfect...
Fork Oil is cheap to experiment with. 10wt or 15wt motor oil is $3 USD a quart, red ATF (auto transmission fluid) is 7.5wt. Thicker will slow the circuit under compression (braking). If you can’t budget for new springs, adding a simple preload spacer (scrap pipe of similar inner diameter - PVC...
Check your manual, and that both of your bar clamps are oriented the same way. On the Svart 401, the lower portion of the clamp is asymmetrical, relative to the mounting point of the top triple clamp. To give a few mm of adjustment fore and aft. You may have reinstalled with them opposed to each...
Of course.. I’d be happy to look into shipping it to Mexico.
PM me your details and I’ll get a quote next week.
It has the original package, but I would double box it to safely make the journey.
Saddle comfort is subjective, I actually don't mind the stock seat.
The Comfort Seat material is grippier and the foam feels slightly firmer.
i only rode this Comfort Seat for < 50 miles. I suspect the extra support of the firmer foam would be a benefit for longer days. So I'd say Yes, there...
I believe it will fit the ‘20 model as well. There doesn’t seem to be major changes to the headlight & display area.
Revzilla says it will fit - they list 2018-2020 / as the same part #
I tried to verify / cross reference compatibility on Puig USA website, but there server was down.
The tool included with my Niitron shock is super slick - to me an indicator of their overall build quality.
It's a two sided pin tool that is also compact enough to fit under the seat.
I'll post a pic later this weekend
