I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseam, but I'm trying to figure out how to disable ABS on my 2020 SP 701. I've tried holding the unmarked and mode button, as I have seen this online, but no dice. I am able to disable TC just fine. The first service has been done.

Thanks!

At least you can disable tc, so it won’t bog down as soon as you lift the front wheel. 👍🏻

Haha, TC has been disabled and whoolies have happened. I just miss the skids some times.

So on a svartpilen 701 pressing the top button and bottom button simultaneously with the engine running while stopped after driving a ways doesn't display the message "keep pressing" for a few seconds followed by release, and then not legal?

It works on my 401 like that, but you really have to have the engine running, drive a few meters so that you exceed a few km/h, stop the bike with the engine running and press both buttons buttons. Killing the engine will reset it.

Just tried this and nothing different.

It displays the message, but after you release it, nothing changes. No "not legal" message, no ABS light, no nothing. TC works as intended. Maybe it's something different for the 2020s.

I have a 2020 Svartpilen 401.
These directions in my manual work with my bike, with the ignition on. It's probaby different with the 701, because the 401 doesn't have traction control.

Note you are just pressing one button on the 401 to make the change from Road to Supermoto. There does not appear to be a mode that turns off both the front and rear abs.
Also, note that I have to press very hard to get the set button to "click". I actually stand to the side of the bike, and pinch the whole cluster to get the button to click. Make sure you can feel/hear that click.
My USA bike gives no warnings when doing this.

I just picked up my 2020 Svart 701 two days ago, so I have not tried this, but as I was reading the manual, I found this section about ABS and it literally made me laugh out loud, because if I'm understanding this correctly, the way to shut off ABS on this model is to either do a wheelie or a burn out! Ha! Gangster. 1603101700283.png

Haha, yeah, this is all I saw as well. I've been in communication with Husky and they keep sending me stuff for other bikes. I assume you can't disable it on the 2020. I'm not too keen on roasting a tire before every ride and I haven't had it disable during a wheelie yet.

I have no idea if this would help, but if you find out, post up: ABS Dongle

If not, maybe you could lean the bike over on it's side stand enough to get the rear wheel off the ground and then spin the rear wheel while lofted? Not safe AT ALL, but I think as long as you don't say "hold my beer and watch this" before you do it, you might be ok...unless someone is shooting video, then for sure it'll be a fail. Because camera. Ha!

For me, I'll mainly want ABS off when I'm on trails, so doing a quick donut in the dirt won't be so bad for my tire wear.

There are two, under the seat.

And there's a third in the regular fusebox, for the ABS control unit. Remove that one and the speedo won't even work (and I wonder how many error messages you get)
