Hey Everyone!
Yesterday, while I was getting ready to set off, my bike shut off while idling in the garage.
I tried to replicate it tonight, but i couldn't. I currently have about 1,300 miles on the bike.
Has this happened to anyone?

Another thing, my left heated grip is loose. I did contact the dealer who installed it for me. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago. The grip spins around.
Does anyone have a fix? Or I probably should just let the dealer correct their work.

Thanks!
E

Because of the loose grip, I assume that the screw underneath the rubber simply needs to be tightened.

My 801’died on me a few times. Installed the FuelX and haven’t had any issues since.
Thank you, Yonsson! Did your engine shut off while you were riding? Or was it while in neutral or 1st gear? Just curious. I'll look info FuelX.

A few times on idle. That didn’t bother me so much but it also died two times when I was riding in town, in roundabouts.

I've had it die on me 4-5 times and 3 times when riding. Added coober ECU and the problems almost went away. Drove to work the other day and it was quite cold (-1 C) and it died after roughly 200 m but started right up.

Reckon it had been way too cold and I was in a bit of a hurry.

Thanks for the info. That's quite worrying when you're riding and the bike shuts off. I've been riding my Honda Monkey a lot to work lately :P I'll definitely pick something up with the likes of FuelX. I'll watch Yonsson's video about it. I don't want to stress about it shutting off again.

No problem.

After I've installed the coober ECU (after roughly 1200 km) I've had zero problems with it dying on me besides the other day but that was exceptional. So far I've clocked about 4500 km.

The Euro 5+ is an issue for sure. FuelX or Coober will definitely amend that issue. Previous, I couldn’t ride my bike in 2nd gear at 30km/h, now I can run it at 25km/h in 2nd gear without issues.

If there was a “power parts ECU upgrade”, that would have been the best option I guess, but there isn’t.

I wouldn’t install FuelX/Coober for power gains though. My bike definitely runs better but I have no idea if that results in more power, and if so, theoretically, it’s not through all the rpm range.

Mine died on me too the other day... Kinda stressful in the middle of a crossroad !

I'd like to go for a FuelX and even add a better filter intake to make the combo even better, but i guess my insurance forbids it... Modification of power bla bla bla..
True that the bike dying in the middle of anywhere can be dangerous !

You can hide the module, it’s not like anyone needs to see it.

Hidden or not, in an event of a big crash, the insurance will find it.
Best way to have no cover....

Geez, I’m glad no one rear ended you. How many miles do you have on your bike? This sounds like a recall waiting to happen. Did you notify your dealer? I live in the US and the FuelX dealer in Texas said there isn’t one for the 801 yet.

The 790 version works great. I made a video about it.

As well as the coober, albeit more expensive it's easier to get hold of.

The dealer said there's nothing to do about it shutting off since it's due to the euro5 standard and it being problematic.

I've never heard of insurance not allowing you to change fuel air mixture but rather large modification like changing the geometry of the bike, modding the brakes and so on but that's in Sweden.

In France, modifications are an issue, it's even written on all my insurance contracts... You can't touch anything ! (or they'll do their best not to pay in the event of a crash)

The 801 only died on me once, the 401 would do that on a regular basis so i am kinda used to it ! Still not very enjoyable... I am sure the FuelX improves it by far ! These pollution norms are a pain in the...

Some pics of my sunday morning ride, the last i guess while it's not too cold ! Huge pleasure as always, i am speeding the pace now that i know the bike better... Found my sweet spot on "attack mode" sitting very close to the tank... Fuel gage surprised me as it went from 40km left to empty red (0 km).... ! Luckily a gas station wasn't far and i saw there still was some gas left but wasn't sure how many kms it could have last... Any ideas ?

Here's the beauty (and the beast ^^), nice day folks !

If you gas like crazy the fuel gauge will adapt so the number shown usually decreases kinda fast if you drive like crazy.
